The Blurb:
This is more than just a game…to her
Sports broadcaster Brooks Smith has always been more involved with the game than the players. But after she shares the spotlight at an awards ceremony with tabloid sensation Jonas Nash, one night of letting her guard down around the infamous quarterback spirals into many heated days and nights together when she gets assigned to the story of the year…
The hottest player in professional football is hiding a secret that could end his career for good. Now Brooks is caught on the sidelines between the job she loves and the man she is falling in love with.
My Review:
Women in male-dominated jobs, sport, and romance all come together in this light-yet-punchy read.
Brooks Smith, sportscaster on the rise, meets quarterback bad-boy Jonas Nash at an awards ceremony, then finds herself assigned to cover his team for the season. While Jonas fights for his career and tries to clean up his image, Brooks finds herself torn between protecting her own job and image, and protecting his secrets…
A lovely romance that blends career conflict of interest with falling in love. The dialogue was realistic and the plot tense but heart-warming. The characters were multi-dimensional, and the Southern setting and family life were vividly brought to life. A very enjoyable read.
